Jesus is alive and we don’t have to pretend he’s not

I know it’s Good Friday, and today we remember the cross. Truly!!!
And we also know already Jesus is not dead. He’s alive.
Personally, I’ve never been one to keep my mind and emotions from the resurrection in order to remember the cross appropriately. I’m sure that’s not what some folks are getting at in their remembrance of Good Friday, but it feels like it.
If you want to look ahead to the resurrection, it’s ok. Jesus is not dead, and death did not win. It never won. It never even had a “leg up”. The whole kit and kaboodle was The Father, Son, and Spirit’s “plan A”.
So, celebrate early that Jesus is alive.
Here’s one of my favorite old songs that helps me. “He lives to crush the fiends of hell! Glory hallelujah!”
Enjoy!
